Thorns!

Dogs, and cats for that matter, often rush in when they are excited, without  paying attention to everything around them.  Don't we all?
And sometimes they end up with a thorn in their paw, which is none too fun. When this happens they will certainly let you know, The yowl will usually be the tip off, but if you're not there, they don't just suffer and play helpless, they will go to work on their own paw to solve their own dilemma.

What all of us can learn from this, is. . . First, perhaps pay a little closer attention, even when we get excited. And, secondly, while it is nice to have help, we are capable of helping ourselves. If there is someone around to assist, that's great, sometimes we all need a little help. But if there isn't, we don't have to wait, we can remove our own thorns!

A little Cattitude

The Temple of Dog would not be complete without its Temple Cats!  And sometimes it's good to remember that a little "cattitude" may be required when it's comes to getting what you want out of your day,  Just like a cat walks in anywhere like they own the place, which is all part of their charm, we would do well to adopt a little of that energy when we are walking into any situation. Cats don't care if they are right, they just put themselves where they want to be, whether invited or not. If they get shooed away, they simply return when we're not looking! LOL. While I don't suggest we behave in quite that manner, I do invite us all to consider when channeling a little of "cattitude" might just give us the edge we need.

Be Like Dog!

Ok... Ok... I'm not actually suggesting you get down on all fours and start chasing Squirrels, LOL!  I am suggesting however that we can learn a lot from our furry four legged friends.
1) Dogs always live in the moment.
2) Dogs practice forgiveness and they have no clue how to hold a grudge.
3) Dogs love completely, even when their guardians aren't perfect!
4) Dogs find joy in simple things.
And the list could go on.  These are four of the reasons I think it would do us all good to "be" like dog! What would life be like if we could get just a little better at these four things?

Much love and Wufs,
Rev Deb
